The most common questions we get from our clients
Tan Care
- Shower at least an hour before your appointment (earlier is fine too).
- Avoid Dove, Olay and most bar soaps. Dove and OLAY affect ph levels of skin and tan (see recommended products below)
- Exfoliate well with a mitt and/or scrub. Ensure there is NO oily residue left on skin as this will cause uneven application/development
- Remove any residue from the moisture strip of your razor
- Arrive with no lotion, deodorant, oils, perfumes, makeup
- All waxing/laser hair removal should be done at least 24 hours prior
- Do not schedule mani/pedi’s, spa services, etc for after spray tans
- Bring loose long sleeve/pants to put on after tan during development to avoid skin on skin contact - no leggings, jeans, tight bras, etc.
Recommended body washes:
- Native
- South seas (I carry this - $18)
- Raw Sugar
- Hempz
- Cetaphyl
- Cerave
- avoid any soaps with parabens, sulfates, phthalates
** If you are unable to shower prior to your appointment, I do have exfoliating prep mitts for sale for $7 that will remove any lotions, oils, and deodorants and well as balance skin ph and prep you perfectly for your tan. They can be purchased at your appointment and require no prep.
What to expect after your spray:
- Wear loose, long sleeves and loose pants until your designated rinse time to avoid skin on skin contact (such as thighs touching, underarm contact and inner elbow crease)
- Avoid activities that could cause sweating or contact with water.
- Your first rinse will be a “water only” shower. Make it fast and avoid hot water. Use your hands in a circular motion all over to rub off excess bronzers.
- Pat dry with a towel and apply a spray tan safe lotion all over.
- Don’t schedule and spa services for the duration of your tan - pedicures, massages, facials. These services usually include oils, scrubs or manual manipulation that could fade your tan very quickly.
